Indian Music

One of the oldest music form known to us but also a very much preferred genre of music is Indian Music. It has lots of complexities and depth in it which is also very varied in form of style and techniques, learning and performing. It is known to mankind that India is one of the countries of the world having a vast history of many centuries. Indian art and music is well known in the whole world and Indian musicians like Pandit shivkumar Sharma, Ustaad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiya, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi are considered as the maestros of Indian Classical Music. We also have variety of Instruments to learn in Indian Music such as Harmonium, Flute, Sitar, Tabla, singing etc



One of the very heavenly sounding instrument and also having a religious connection with lord Krishna. Flute is well known for its sweet and mesmerizing sound. It takes you to a different world of peace and inner calm. Flute is all about breath control. We have lots of techniques to improve the breath and learn to play the flute. This is the only instrument which is used in both the genres of Indian and Western Music. It is lightweight & portable making it a good choice to learn as an instrument. We teach flute using many ragas, breath control techniques, breathing exercises, audio visuals etc.



This instrument is one of the most simple and easy to learn instrument in Indian Music. It is made of wood and uses wind to play along with its leads and keys, this is also one of the most preferable instrument to learn when learning Indian music. It is also used when learning singing to pitch the voice. Harmonium is a little heavy instrument and its sound is very flat it belongs to the family of keys Instruments. Harmonium comes in different forms scale changers and regular ones. Like other instruments of Indian music this one also doesn’t needs electricity to work. It was and still used by many Bollywood music composers and even playback singers to compose their songs and to practice the vocals. We train Harmonium using Hindustani classical pattern followed by Ragas, Thaat, hindi songs etc. This instrument is only used with one hand playing. As the other hand is busy blowing air to the instrument for it to sound.



Indian Singers and Indian Singing is also very popular form in the whole world. Who can forget the famous Bollywood songs sung by these Indian Playback singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, sonu nigam, kumar sanu to name a few. Every person wants to sing like these celebrity singers and dreams to be big name in Bollywood. We train students for singing from the scratch to playback singing. We use the breathing techniques, ragas, aalankars, arohi and avrohi, karaoke etc. as a part of our Singing course in Indian Singing. We also help students to pursue their dream of becoming a Bollywood singer by guiding, counselling, making demo, training them for auditions for various reality talent singing shows like Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Indian Idol, The Voice etc.



This Indian instrument is known for its combination of bass and treble sound. It became more popular after ustaad allah rakha and his son Zakir Hussain gaining popularity in the whole world. Tabla is used to give rhythm and counts to the songs played and sung. Tabla is known as the two piece Indian drum one called as bayan and other called as dayan (means left and right in hindi) It produces mainly the percussion sound and a steady beat played manually. Tabla is all about taals & counts. Tabla is used in Qawwali, Bollywood songs, religious songs, semi classical music etc. We train Tabla with the knowledge of taals, counts, different beats and their types, improvising beats, etc.
